How customers browse your categories: Scroll, Tabs, Drill-down, or Sidebar.
3 minAll categories and items are on a single scrollable page. The simplest and most familiar pattern. Categories act as section headers with items listed below each one.
Best for: menus with 3–8 categories. Customers see everything without tapping.
A fixed tab bar appears at the top. Tapping a tab shows only the items in that category. The tab bar stays visible as the customer scrolls.
Best for: menus with many categories (8+). Keeps the interface clean by showing one category at a time.
Customers first see a category selection screen (landing page). Tapping a category enters that menu section. A back button returns to the category list.
Best for: restaurants with distinct menu sections (Breakfast, Lunch, Drinks) or those who want a visual landing experience.
A side navigation panel with category links. The main content area shows the selected category's items. Common in web-based menus for larger screens.
